“Amazing Spider-Man” Returns to the Open World

Today is a happy day for Spider-Man video game fans. Beenox has just released a new screenshot that teases the webslinging wonder’s return to a open world format.

For those who’ve had their opinions of the Spider-Man movie franchise and all related items clouded by memories of symbiotes that were too skinny, Tobey Macguire in eyeliner and that (awesome) dancing scene*, Spider-Man 2 was by and far the greatest licensed video game of all-time in 2004. Since then Beenox has made two Spidey games that features more story-driven, mission based gameplay to varying degrees of success. This movie tie-in game would be their first attempt at an open world Spider-Man game.

The Amazing Spider-Man marks Beenox' first foray in open world Spider-Man gaming.
