Toonami Returns to TV May 26

Adult Swim announced on Wednesday that the net work would be bringing back its Toonami programming block starting May 26.

The announcement comes after the company and Cartoon Network brought back the block for April Fool’s Day to gauge interest in the dormant property. Support came out in spades and plans to bring back Toonami were put in place.

Toonami origianlly ran from 1997 to 2008 replacing Power Zone as Cartoon Network’s primary action-animation block. Besides showing fan-favorite anime series such as Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Tenchi Muyo, Cowboy Bebop and more, the programming block also featured Total Immersion events and weekly films.

As of 5/18, TV Guide lists the (as-of-yet unconfirmed by Adult Swim) schedule as follows:
12:00 a.m. – Bleach
12:30 a.m. – Fullmetal Alchemist
1:00 a.m. – Durarara!!
1:30 a.m. – Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
2:00 a.m. – FLCL
2:30 a.m. – Cowboy Bebop
3:00 a.m. – Bleach
3:30 a.m. – Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG
4:00 a.m. – Bleach
4:30 a.m. – Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
5:00 a.m. – Durarara!!
5:30 a.m. – Cowboy Bebop
