This Week in Posters – 6/15/13


Three new, super-saturated character posters for Nicolas Winding Refn’s Only God Forgiveswere released this week, featuring Kristin Scott Thomas, Ryan Gosling, and Vithaya Pansringarm.

Bong Joon-ho’s highly-anticipated English-language debut, Snowpiercer, features Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton in Korean character posters:


And we also have new posters for Paranoia and Elysium!



Shepard Fairey’s Peace & Justice print will be released in large format next Tuesday, June 18, measuring 36 x 48 inches”. 3-color, 1-varnish screen print will come from an edition of 50, comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, and will cost $800. It will be available here at 10 AM PST on June 18th.

Rabbit Eye Movement is currently running an IndieGoGo campaign to help finance “The Deepest Depths of the Burrow”, a documentary featuring street artist Nychos and his public murals. Prints of varying sizes, as well as original sketches, are now available for contributors. Click here for more information.

Cincinnati-based artist Dan May has prints of his stunning 2011 painting, “Where Have All The Monsters Gone?”, available on 1xRun until June 28th (or until they sell out). The print measures 16 x 20 inches, and costs $75 ($240 framed, or $250 printed on bamboo panel). Click here to sign up for 1xRun.

Ruth Dealy’s “Annunciation”, an edition of 100 prints based on her 2012 60” by 60” acrylic on raw canvas, is now available at Tiny Showcase. The image area measures 7 x 7 inches, and with its one-inch border for framing the print itself will be 8 x 8 inches.

Eighty prints are available out of an edition of 100, and will costs $20 (or $130 framed in maple). $5 from the sale of each print will be donated to AS220 Youth, a Rhode Island-based arts education program for young people ages 14-21 with a special focus on those in the care and custody of the state. Get some great art for your wall while contributing to a great cause – it doesn’t get much better than that!

June 21th – July 20th: SPACE! at Gallery 1988 West, Los Angeles, CA.

Curated by Mike Mitchell, well-known for his recent “Just Like Us” series, SPACE! touts itself as a celebration of the “past, present, and future of space exploration and the awesomeness that is the universe”. Featuring special guest Bobak Ferdowsi, SPACE! will showcase works from Olly Moss, Kevin Tong, Scott C., Daniel Danger, Allison Hoffman, and more. June 21st to July 20th: Adventure Time and Regular Show at Mondo Gallery, Austin TX.

Later this month, the Austin, Texas-based gallery Mondo will be displaying original artwork inspired by Adventure Time and Regular Show. There will be an opening reception on June 21th from 7-10 PM, and the show will run through July 20. Find out more at the Mondo blog.

Gallery Nucleus has announced an appearance for their eighth year at Comic Con. They will be hosting the island booth with artists like Scott C., Olly Moss, Mike Mitchell, Becky Dreistadt, Kazu Kibuishi, and more, with several exclusive new art print releases from the artists.
