This year, Archie Comic’s NYCC booth promoted its new zombie series “Afterlife with Archie” as Marvel got the crowd pumped with its Thor: The Dark World NYCC Cosplay Contest. Free comics were handed out, with hundreds of cosplayers posing for pictures with fans and creators alike. Though there were some hiccups with the new RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Badges, with thousands of convention attendees the sold out show proved just how big of a convention NYCC has become in eight years.
