The Kabooooom! Scoop: ‘Batman vs Superman’ Gets Official Title, More “New 52” Titles Canceled, ‘True Blood’ Final Season Trailer, & More!


  • Finally, Warner Bros.’ Man of Steel sequel has an official titleBatman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. It’s accompanied by the official logo, above. Thoughts? (via Variety)
  • Unfortunately, this news comes only hours after The Mary Sue‘s Alan Kistler brought some very disparaging comments from Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice scribe, David Goyer to light. These comments include calling She-Hulk, “a giant green porn star that only the Hulk could fuck,” and implying fans of the Martian Manhunter haven’t ever been “laid.” Wow.   • There’s some good news, however, as Kevin Smith has said photo of the BvS Batsuit he was shown was in color and showed a suit very similar to Batman’s look in Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. (via io9)
  • Back to the comics, more New 52 titles are getting axed, including Superboy, Birds of Prey, Batwing, and All-Star Western. (via Digital Spy)
  • Now, in not-entirely-depressing DC Comics news, Wonder Woman will be headlining her own weekly, digital anthology series Sensation Comics – featuring work by Gail Simone, Ethan Van Sciver, Cecil Castellucci, Amanda Deibert, and Lauren Beukes. (via THR)

  • Kingsman: The Secret Service, a film based on Mark Millar‘s comic Secret Service starring Colin Firth has its first trailer. See the film’s first poster at Coming Soon.
  • Rocksteady is returning to the Arkham series with their newest game, Batman: Arkham Knight. Check out its first gameplay trailer at Geek Tyrant.
  • The Daily Star, admittedly not the most reputable name in news, is reporting Sony has Andrew Garfield in contract for at least two more Amazing Spider-Man films.
  • Love the 80s? Then you’ll be pumped when you hear Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis have been cast in the upcoming Jem and the Holograms flick. (via THR)
  • The full trailer is coming tomorrow, but in the mean time check out some preview images and a teaser for Marvel‘s and Disney‘s first animated venture: Big Hero 6. (via MTV)

  • The first full trailer for HBO‘s True Blood‘s final season is out, and man, does it look like this will be the supernatural soap opera’s most insane season ever!
  • Robert Kirkman promises the upcoming season of AMC‘s The Walking Dead will “hit the ground running.” (via EW)
  • With Dark Horse Comics’ license for Star Wars comics ending this year, Marvel has said they’ll announce their publishing plan for comics set in a galaxy far, far away this July. (via Bleeding Cool)
  • And lastly, those wishing for more Sherlock anytime soon will need to wait. Executive producer Mark Gatiss says there are no plans for a standalone episode or movie before Series 4. When is Series 4 happening? Well, that depends on Mr. Cumberbatch’s and Mr. Freeman’s busy, busy schedules. (via Digital Spy)
