The Kabooooom! Scoop: Original ‘Sailor Moon’ Coming to Hulu, ‘Lumberjanes’ Becomes Ongoing, ‘Godzilla’ Gets a Sequel & More!

  • Marvel‘s Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the most anticipated and strangest movies releasing this summer. Tomorrow, the newest trailer drops, but there’s been plenty of new footage teased already in these short videos. Check out an earlier teaser with even more footage here.
  • Hayley Atwell discussed her upcoming television series, Agent Carter, and revealed the first season will be eight episodes long. It’s still unclear whether or not Agent Carter will be an ongoing series or mini-series, but an eight episode season fits the format of the latter.
  • Surprisingly absolutely no one after having the largest opening weekend this year, Godzilla is getting a sequel [Read our review]. (via Box Office Mojo, Deadline)
  • Also getting a sequel is director Gareth Edwards first film, Monsters, with – Monsters 2: Dark Continent. Check out the trailer.
  • And in related Kaiju news, Legendary producer Thomas Tull hasn’t ruled out a Pacific Rim sequel, but says there’s no rush. (via I Am Rogue)
  • Speaking of Godzilla, IDW has announced a new Godzilla mini-series for the summerGodzilla: Cataclysm from Cullen Bunn (The Sixth Gun, Fearless Defenders). On art duty will be by Dave Wachter (Night of 1,000 Wolves). (via Nerdist)
  • And speaking of Nerdist, Chris Hardwicks All-Star Celebrity Bowling is coming to television!


  • Marvel has also unveiled this logo for their first upcoming animated film from Disney, Big Hero 6. The first trailer is expected to release on Thursday, May 22nd.
  • The Arnold Fans have spotted this promotional poster for Universal‘s planned King Conan starring Arnold Schwarzenegger floating around the Cannes film festival.
  • Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) and Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class, Days of Future Past) are teaming up for a new Bonnie and Clyde biopic. (via The Wrap)

  • Sailor Moon returns! Before the brand new anime, Sailor Moon Crystal, debuts this summer, relive the classic 90s anime every Monday on Hulu. The complete, uncut, and remastered episodes will be added (two at a time) every Monday beginning May 19th. They’ll be available subtitled and with a new English dub.
  • We’re big fans of Boom! Studios‘ latest title, Lumberjanes from Grace Ellis, Noelle Stevenson, and Brooke Allen. And it turns out A LOT of other people are too, because the first issue [Read our review] has sold three times its initial order and the series is now ongoing! (via Bleeding Cool)
  • Fans of Dark Horse Comics‘ long run of Star Wars comics have until August to say their goodbyes, the final issues wrapping up the publisher’s last three Star Wars comics release that month. Still no word on when Disney-owned Marvel will begin publishing a line of Star Wars comics, but it very well could be delayed until the release of Star Wars: Episode VII in 2015. (via Newsarama)
