Here at Kaboooooom we live and breathe comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s Kabooooom’s Pull List!

This Week’s Must Read: Wytches #2
There are a lot of great books releasing this week, and Thor #2 almost made it as my must read. (We finally get to meet the new Thor!) But it’s Wytches #2 that has me most excited. Scott Snyder, Jock and Matt Hollingsworth really knocked it out of the park with #1, as you may recall from my glowing review. The horror series was unlike I’d anything I’d read before, and had me creeped out for days. That first issue also ended on one aggravating cliffhanger, but it’s one I’m desperate to see resolved in #2.

This Week’s Must Read: Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier #2
I picked up the first issue of this series on a whim. I had four extra bucks and knew that I enjoyed Ales Kot. I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed the surreal artwork of Marco Rudy. Every page made me feel like I was on a psychedelic trip through the mind of Marvel’s most interesting covert operative (now that Nick Fury Sr. is “dead”). The basic plot follows Bucky as he takes on the mantel of “Earth’s first line of defense” from the Original Sin storyline. While I don’t usually go in for continuation story lines to crossovers, this one is well worth the time.

Pull List: Arrow: Season 2.5 #6 (Digital), Batgirl #36, Batman #36, Earth 2: World’s End #6, Injustice: Gods Among Us – Year Three #7 (Digital), Justice League United #6
This Week’s Must Read: Superior Iron Man #1
I’ve never been the biggest fan of Tony Stark. I’ve never found the character all that likeable, despite my usual affinity for know-it-all smartasses. Then again, it’s debatable how likeable Tony was meant to be in the first place. Regardless, with Injustice: Gods Among Us writer Tom Taylor handling the script and Supergirl artist Yildiray Cinar handling the look of this new Superior Iron Man title, I’m willing to give it a shot. I may not like Iron Man, but I love these two creators!
