Here at Kaboooooom we live and breathe comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s Kabooooom’s Pull List!

Pull List:
Adventure Time Marceline Gone Adrift #1 [Review], Batgirl #38, Rat Queens Special #1, The Walking Dead #136, Captain Marvel #11,
This Week’s Must Read: Star Wars #1

As if my write-up in Get Psyched On It! wasn’t enough of a clue, I’m super excited for Marvel’s new Star Wars ongoing. With Star Wars: The Force Awakens releasing later this year and Luke, Leia, Han and co. returning, now is perfect time to learn more about their lives during those years fighting the Empire. The prequels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars gave us a lot of material on Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka, but it’s time to focus again on that original trio. This re-entry into the classic Star Wars saga begins with Jason Aaron and John Cassaday’s Star Wars #1, and I couldn’t be more ready to catch up with old friends.

This Week’s Must Read: Conan/Red Sonja #1 [Review]

As I noted in our preview of this book, this is the first team-up between Conan and Red Sonja in the 21st century and it is a crossover that is long overdue. With a script by Gail Simone and Jim Zub – both writers known for their humor as well as their ability to write a good action comic – Conan/Red Sonja #1 promises to be as amusing as it is thrilling. Plus, the artwork by Dan Panosian is amazing.
