Here at Kaboooooom we live and breathe comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s Kabooooom’s Pull List!

Honestly, what can I say about Sex Criminals that I haven’t already? Well, you’ll find out soon when I post my review, but ahead of that I can only again strongly recommend this series. Let me stress that Sex Criminals isn’t for those who feel squeamish at the thought of sex and its many fetishes, but for those open to a hilarious story about sex, relationships and the unique ability to stop time by orgasming – then Sex Criminals is the comic for you!

Pull List: Batgirl #42, Batgirl Annual #3, Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor #3, Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor #13, Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor #10, Ghostbusters: Get Real #2, Injustice: Gods Among Us – Year Four #13 (Digital Edition), Knights Of The Dinner Table #222, Red Sonja #17 [Review], Superman #42, The Flash: Season Zero #24 (Digital Edition), The Tithe #4
This Week’s Must Read: Conan/Red Sonja HC

conan-red-sonja-hardcoverIt seems that practically every comic I subscribe to is coming out this week. Between all the Doctor Who comics, two Batgirl books and the latest Red Sonja, I am seeing all my needs for stories involving my favorite sci-fi hero and awesome ass-kicking redheads met. Yet the book I’m recommending above all others is one I’ve already read and reviewed. Even if you’re not usually a fan of the sword-and-sorcery genre, you should consider picking up Conan/Red Sonja. The story is a hilarious action-filled romp and the artwork is amazing.

Pull List: Superman #42, Lazarus #18, Low #8, Wayward #10, Black Widow #20, Star Wars #7
This Week’s Must Read: 1602: Witch Hunter Angela #2

1602 witch hunter angela 2 cvrIf you’re looking to get your fill of Angela, then this is the week to do it with both 1602 and M.O.D.O.K. 1602 is by far superior to the M.O.D.O.K. Secret Wars tie-in and it places everyone’s favorite Asgardian Angel in medieval times. While the time frame may be different, Angela is still the bounty hunter we all know and love, hunting demons and not taking any sass from anyone. In the first issue, she killed the king (you know, just a small assassination to start out the series) and it seems that Marguerite Bennett and Kieron Gillen will continue with that same the fast-paced plot structure from the regular Angela series.

Buy these comics at your local comic book store (Don’t know where that is? Here you go.), from Things From Another Universe, or digitally via Comixology.com.
