The Pull List, 10.28.15

Here at Kaboooooom we love our comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop, it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s Kabooooom’s Pull List!

Sarah Moran

Pull List: Power Up #4 (of 6), Aquaman #45, Angela: Queen of Hel #1, Chewbacca #2 (of 5), Rick & Morty #7
This Week’s Must Read: The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #1

the unbeatable squirrel girl 1 cvrOh comics and your constant renumbering! The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl has been going strong for eight issues, but with Marvel rebooting their universe post-Secret Wars, everybody’s getting a shiny, new #1. This series is absolutely charming, but I haven’t followed it as closely as I should have through its brief tenure, making this fresh start a perfect jumping (back) on point. She’s superhero who eats nuts and kicks butts! Why wouldn’t you want to check this out?

Marcus Hammond

Pull List: New Suicide Squad #13, Superman #45, Deadpool vs. Thanos #4, Spider-Man 2099 #2, Batgirl #45
This Week’s Must Read: Angela: Queen of Hel #1

angela queen of hel 1 cvrIt’s another sparse week for my pull list, but Angela: Queen of Hel #1 is by far the comic I’m looking forward to most. I don’t know if it’s because I cut my comic-loving teeth on Spawn in the 90s or if Marguerite Bennett is the perfect writer for the character, but I love the story lines that have been created since the character arrived in the Marvel Universe. This series looks to send Angela to Hel to rescue Sera. I hope Bennett will be able to let loose and continue to build Angela as a strong, self-reliant female superhero. Kim Jacinto and Stephanie Hans handle the artwork, and from the previews released it looks like it’s going to be a great compliment to the series.

Buy these comics at your local comic book store (Don’t know where that is? Here you go.), from Things From Another Universe, or digitally via Comixology.com.
