DISNEY DARKWING DUCK #4/ Script by AARON SPARROW/ Art by JAMES SILVANI/ Colors by ANDREW DALHOUSE/ Letters by AW’S D.C. HOPKINS/ Published by JOE BOOKS LTD

Fresh off his victory over his entire rogues’ gallery during a failed take-over of St. Canard’s new special penitentiary for super-villains, Darkwing Duck is not resting on his laurels! A new ne’er-do-well is menacing the city! One whose stupendous strength is more than a match for the dynamic daring-do of Darkwing Duck! So far, anyway…

Dubbing himself Gnatmare, this pint-size powerhouse is no fly-by-night threat. He’s pretty darn dangerous during the day too! And he’s a fly. A fly that’s sick of being swatted around by the world. A fly that’s capable of lifting safes single-handed. A fly that’s able and willing to throw hapless heroes across town. Try and smash him with your foot and you’ll get a smashed foot!

It’ll take more than brute force to swat this sinister scoundrel! And it will take more than Darkwing’s warnings to keep his daughter Gosalyn from trying to get involved and help out. But when Gosalyn’s meddling with a supervillain’s confiscated technology winds up getting Gnatmare’s attention and places her in harm’s way, Darkwing will have to make an unlikely alliance with an old foe in order to zap Gnatmare for good!

After an amazing opening arc which played out like the original 2009 Arkham Asylum game with The Terror The Flaps In The Night in place of Batman, this issue of Darkwing Duck proves to be an easily accessible one-shot perfect for new readers. Writer Aaron Sparrow has perfectly captured the voices of the characters from the original cartoon series and created a villain worthy of Darkwing Duck’s already fantastic rogues’ gallery. Likewise, artist James Silvani perfectly emulates the house-style of the original show’s artwork, making every panel look like a lost animation cel. This is one family comic that truly is fun for readers of all ages!
