ACID CHIMP VS. BUSINESS DOG #1 / Scripts by BRYCE INGMAN & MARK RUSSELL / Art by PETER KRAUSE & STEVE PUGH / Colors by CHRIS CHUCKRY / Letters by ROB STEEN / Published by AHOY COMICS
One is the acid-throwing pet of a billionaire supervillain. The other is the richest dog in the world and the savior of American capitalism. What will happen when Acid Chimp meets Business Dog?! And who dared arrange this most unlikely of conflicts?!

I never considered the possibility of My Bad and Billionaire Island sharing a universe. Why should I? Apart from both being published by Ahoy Comics and being bloody hilarious satires, the two books have nothing in common. One is a superhero parody based on the logistics of how superheroes would work in our modern day world. The other is a Swiftian portrait of a dark future run by Wall Street logic.
Of course applying real logic to either of these settings is a fool’s errand. So why not combine them, if only for a one shot? As a fan of both My Bad and Billionaire Island, I was up for this idea. I am unsure, however, if the book holds any appeal for those not already familiar with those series.
On the other hand, if you’re the sort of person who sees a book title like Acid Chimp vs. Business Dog and is mildly curious, this could be your ticket to two overlooked and underrated indy series. In that respect, I can recommend this book without reservation.
Messrs. Ingman, Krause, Russell and Pugh are in fine form, as always, with Chris Chuckry and Rob Steen backing them admirably on the colors and letters. This book may not be quite as cutting as Billionaire Island, or as Mel Brooksian as My Bad. It is, however, a fun read. And that ain’t nothing.

Acid Chimp vs. Business Dog #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on January 10, 2024.
