GUN HONEY: COLLISION COURSE #1 [Advance Review]

GUN HONEY: COLLISION COURSE #1 / Script by CHARLES ARDAI / Art by ANG HOR KHENG / Color by JOAO RODRI / Letters by DAVID LEACH / Published by TITAN COMICS

Joanna Tan is a smuggler with a special skill. She can sneak any gun, anywhere you might need to have a weapon waiting. She’s known as Gun Honey, but she’s been off the grid for nearly a year. This was due to a good deed that was punished and a government agent she helped after a job went south. He returned the favor when a price was put on her head, requiring them both to go into hiding.

Thankfully, Joanna has a plan to take the heat off of them. She has a colleague who offers a unique insurance package. If they don’t hear from you for one year, they release whatever dirty laundry you have regarding the people most likely to make you disappear. Joanna had the foresight to set up a policy one year earlier. Unfortunately, her colleague (and his son) need the sort of help only Gun Honey can offer.

Charles Ardai has done it again. This latest volume of Gun Honey is as packed with action and excitement as the previous ones. The artwork by Ang Hor Kheng continues to impress, with Joao Rodri and David Leach offering the perfect finishes through their colors and letters.

If you haven’t read the earlier Gun Honey volumes, there’s no need to panic. The afterword gives you all the information you need on the story so far. You will get more out of it, however, if you’ve been reading from the beginning as I have. And if you have read the earlier Gun Honey volumes, be prepared for more of the excellent neo-noir thrills that made this series a hit.

Gun Honey: Collision Course #1 releases on May 15, 2024.
