SPACE GHOST #12 / Script by DAVID PEPOSE / Art by JONATHAN LAU / Color by ANDREW DALHOUSE / Letters by TAYLOR ESPOSITO / Published by DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT
The Ghost Planet is imperiled! The Council of Doom is triumphant! Or so it seems…
Bloodied but not yet beaten, Space Ghost and his young wards are on the run. Their home is on the verge of exploding thanks to a seismic attack by the malevolent Moltar. With all of their worst enemies assembled against them and holding the advantage of numbers, is there any way the Champion of the Spaceways can survive?!

Had you told me a year ago that Space Ghost would be my favorite new comic of 2024, I would not have believed it. And yet, I cannot find fault with any issue of this comic so far. Building on the classic art of Alex Toth, Jonathan Lau crafted the perfect redesigns of the original characters. The colors of Andrew Dalhouse and letters of Taylor Esposito added the perfect finishes, turning what might have been a simple cartoon tie-in into a work of amazing visual depth.
This depth was matched by David Pepose’s writing. Pepose manages the neat trick of spinning an ongoing saga, while still making every issue stand on its own merits. While readers would benefit from reading Space Ghost from the beginning, one could grab any issue and be assured of getting a complete action-packed adventure.
Clearly I am not alone in loving Space Ghost. The series has been extended, with a new #1 issue planned for this July. While this will undoubtedly be as good a jumping-on point as every issue to date, I would suggest seeking out the earlier issues, or the first TP, With Only Ghosts To Comfort Us, before then.
Space Ghost #12 arrives in comic shops everywhere on May 14, 2025.
