THE GODLESS WORLD OF ONEE-CHAN VOL. 1 / Story by AOI AKASHIRO/ Plot by SHINYA MURATA / Illustration by TOKISADA HAYAMI / Character Designs by HANGETSUBANSONSYO / Letters by TOM WILLIAMS / Translation by MOLLY RABBIT / Published by TITAN MANGA
Chiyomaru Urabe is a worshipper of the goddess Mitama, who teaches that miracles are achieved by force. To that end, she has honed her body to physical perfection. Beyond proving her faith, she has one goal – to marry the younger brother, Yukito, she has not seen since she was a baby!
This is complicated by the revelation that her brother was sent into another world by her cult. This does not stop Chiyomaru from following him, finding herself in a strange place with no gods or religion. There are, however, Archons, who use their magic powers to terrorize the common folk. At least, until Chiyomaru’s might allows her to tame one Archon and start building her own empire on the path to romance!

The sequel series to Working for God in a Godless World, The Godless World of Onee-Chan continues the novel twist on the classic Isekai formula. The story satirizes many of the genre cliches, up to and including Chiyomaru trying to get hit by a car. Because that ALWAYS sends people to another world in the Anime! Of course she is so strong this destroys the car and barely slows her down.
The artwork and story flow are a step-up from the original series too. Fans of muscle mommies will be pleased by the character designs of Chiyomaru and her frequent poses to show off her physique. Unfortunately, her obsession with her younger brother is off-putting to put it mildly, even as a source of humor. (The only reason this is clearly a joke is the peasants she liberates are as disturbed by her declarations of love as I was.)
All in all, fans of Isekai looking for a parody of the genre will likely get a kick out of The Godless World of Onee-Chan. So will fans of Working for God in a Godless World. I don’t think it will hold much broad appeal beyond that, however.
