The Kabooooom Pull List, 12.17.14

Here at Kaboooooom we live and breathe comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s Kabooooom’s Pull List!

Pull List:
Lumberjanes #9, Batman #37, The Multiversity #1.4, Wytches #3, Captain Marvel #10, Ms. Marvel #10
This Week’s Must Read: The Wicked + The Divine #6

At first it was tough for me to choose which book from my pull would be my must read – Batman? Wytches? Either Captain or Ms. Marvel? – but all I had to do was relive the events of The Wicked + The Divine‘s last issue and remember that cliffhanger! This series from superstars Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie has been a knockout hit, one that I cannot recommend strongly enough. From its interesting premise where gods are reincarnated as pop stars to what it says when we treat pop stars like gods – The Wicked + The Divine is one part colorful, pulpy fun and another part scathing introspection. It’s likely important you read issues 1-5 before picking up this latest book, but you’ll thank me once you do.

Pull List: Batman #37, Earth 2: World’s End #11, Injustice: Gods Among Us – Year Three #12 (Digital), Knights of the Dinner Table #215, The Flash: Season Zero #8 (Digital)
This Week’s Must Read: The Sandman: Overture #4

The only bad thing about this series is the downtime between issues. Still, with a script by Neil Gaiman and art by J. H. Williams III, every issue of The Sandman: Overture so far has proven worth the wait. I expect this issue won’t be any different.

Buy these comics at your local comic book store (Don’t know where that is? Here you go.) or digitally via Comixology.com.

  1. I know who the parents of the Endless are! The clues were in plain sight in Sandman Overture #2 and #4 all but confirms my theory!
