This Week’s Must Read: Robin Rises: Alpha #1

Bruce’s mission to recover Damian’s body from Apokolips came to a head last week in Batman & Robin #37. That issue was full of drama and surprises. This week in Robin Rises: Alpha #1 we get to see how Batman’s trip to Apokolips will affect the Bat-Family going forward. Most importantly, however, we get to see how death has changed Damian and if his contact with the Chaos crystal shard will have any lasting effects on his life as Robin.

This Week’s Must Read: Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor #3

There are a lot of good books coming out this week and I’m hard pressed to pick a favorite. But given that I love Peter Capaldi’s take on The Doctor, that Robbie Morrison (no relation) has perfectly captured the essence of the show with the first two issues of this comic, and this issue promises to kick off a storyline loosely based on the classic episode “Pyramids of Mars”… well, there’s too much going for this issue for me not to be excited about it.
