The Pull List, 2.4.15

Here at Kaboooooom we live and breathe comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s Kabooooom’s Pull List!

Sarah Moran, Editor
Pull List:
Nameless #1, Saga #25, Synergy #4, Wytches #4, Angela: Asgard’s Assassin, Ms. Marvel #11
This Week’s Must Read: Star Wars #2

I was blown away by how good Marvel’s Star Wars #1 turned out. Right off the bat the issue felt like the beginning of a film, kicking off the next chapter (after Episode IV: A New Hope) in Luke, Leia, and Han’s adventure. Jason Aaron manages to capture the characters’ voices perfectly, and Cassaday’s art is pretty good considering he has the arduous task of copying such recognizable actors’ appearances. Plus, the first issue gave us an amazing action sequence in where Vader used some hapless Stormtroopers as human shields and that was absolutely brilliant. Give me more Star Wars #2!

Pull List:
Feathers #2, The Woods #10, Swamp Thing #39, East of West #17, Saga #25, Wytches #4, Star Wars #2
This Week’s Must Read: Lady Killer #2

It is either feast or famine for my pull list these days. This week has a lot of issues to be excited about, but the one issue I’m most excited for is Lady Killer #2. I absolutely loved the first issue, from the art to how it sunk its hooks in hard. With the way that the first issue ended, I can’t wait to see where issue #2 goes.

superman 38 cover
Matt Morrison, Writer
Pull List: AArrow: Season 2.5 #12 (Digital), Green Arrow #39, Injustice: Gods Among Us – Year Three #19 (Digital), Knights Of The Dinner Table #217, Red Sonja: Vulture’s Circle #2, Star Wars #2, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #2
This Week’s Must Read: Superman #38

The first collaboration between Geoff Johns and John Romita Jr comes to a close with this issue. And it’s been a truly surprising story as well as one of the best Superman stories in recent memory. If you haven’t been reading this book lately, be sure to grab the trade once it comes out. Even those comic fans who don’t usually like the Big Blue Boy Scout will get a kick out of this one.

Buy these comics at your local comic book store (Don’t know where that is? Here you go.) or digitally via Comixology.com.
