The Pull List, 2.11.15

Here at Kaboooooom we live and breathe comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s Kabooooom’s Pull List!

Pull List:
Help Us! Great Warrior #1, Harley Quinn Valentine’s Day Special, Secret Six #2, Empty #1, The Walking Doctor #137, Captain Marvel #12, Darth Vader #1, Thor #5
This Week’s Must Read: Adventure Time: Marceline Gone Adrift #2

This is a fairly packed week for my pull and it was difficult choosing which book would be my Must Read. I could easily recommend Secret Six, The Walking Dead or Darth Vader as being great comics to read, but when it comes down to it I’m most excited to grab Marceline Gone Adrift #2. I didn’t just enjoy its first issue, I freakin’ loved it! Easily, Marceline Gone Adrift is shaping up to be the best Adventure Time spinoff to date and I cannot wait to see where Meredith Gran takes Marcy and Bonnie next.

Pull List:
Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier #5, Harley Quinn Valentine’s Day Special, Secret Six #2, Shutter #9, Coffin Hill #15
This Week’s Must Read: Amazing Spider-Man #14

Spider-Verse has seen the creation of some interesting characters (Silk, Spider-Gwen), the deaths of a few others (read it to find out who), and plenty of drama between Peter and Spider-Ock. Dan Slott wraps the story up with this issue, and we know by now he’s not afraid to pull off the unexpected to get a good ending.

Pull List: Conan/Red Sonja #2, Darth Vader #1, Injustice: Gods Among Us – Year Three #20 (Digital), Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files: Down Town #1, Justice League United #9, The Flash: Season Zero #12 (Digital)
This Week’s Must Read: Secret Six #2

It’s a tough choice for a top pick this week, but I’ve selected Secret Six #2 as it gives me an excuse to share this story. I met artist Ken Lashley this past weekend, got my Secret Six #1 autographed and then asked about buying some of his prints. When I revealed I planned to hang one of them up in the teen room at the library where I work, he generously said I could take one of everything. So because he is an awesome artist AND a generous man (and because the first issue of Secret Six was bloody brilliant), you should all go pick up a copy of the latest issue. And the previous issue.

Buy these comics at your local comic book store (Don’t know where that is? Here you go.) or digitally via Comixology.com.
