This Week’s Must Read: Legendary Star-Lord #11

“Black Vortex” is a story that has captured a lot of what I really like in comics: cosmic drama, massive team ups, mystery, Gamora, Thane… I could go on. This issue is the beginning of the end for the massive power struggle for the Black Vortex between the X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy and Mr. Knife and Thane. I wouldn’t miss out how Sam Humphries – one of the coolest guys to meet, by the way – starts drawing this crossover to a close.

This Week’s Must Read: The Tithe #1

I’m a sucker for a good Robin Hood story. And even with the latest issue of the Arrow web comic and an alternate universe Green Arrow tale out this week, The Tithe still looks to be the best Robin Hood themed comic releasing this Wednesday. The tale of a good Samaritan who robs mega-churches and televangelists to feed the hungry, this seems a most timely morality play.

This Week’s Must Read: Sabrina #2

I was totally the kid who begged my mother for Archie Digests in the grocery line. Now that I’m an adult my taste in comics has changed (somewhat) which is why I was really excited for the more adult-oriented world of Afterlife With Archie. That book introduced us to a more mature version of Sabrina who was too cool to be kept in only one series, so they broke her out into her own run. This is a cool, otherworldly version of the high school witch most of us are familiar with. If you are a fan of Lovecraft and Archie comics, this one’s for you.
