Here at Kaboooooom we love our comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop, it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s Kabooooom’s Pull List!

Pull List: Power Up #5 (of 6), Aquaman #46, DC Comics’ Bombshells #5, Angela: Queen of Hel #2, Chewbacca #4 (of 5), Darth Vader #13, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #2, Jughead #2, Rick and Morty #8
This Week’s Must Read: Archie #4
This is it! This is the big reveal we’ve been waiting for! Finally, we learn what broke apart Archie and Betty – what was the “Lipstick Incident”? Also, though I’ll miss Fiona Staples’ work, artist Annie Wu comes to Riverdale and I know she just going to rock Archie‘s new style. This series is such a delight, and I write this without ever being a huge fan of Archie before this recent reboot. Let’s hope The CW’s planned Riverdale series – a live-action show based on Archie Comics – takes its cues from this comic.

Pull List: All New Wolverine #2, John Carter: Warlord of Mars #13, Rick and Morty #8, Superman #46, Superman: Lois and Clark #2
This Week’s Must Read: Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #2
If you haven’t been reading the new Unbeatable Squirrel Girl title – or even the old Unbeatable Squirrel Girl title – then you’ve been missing out on one of the best little hidden treasures in the new line of Marvel Comics. The book isn’t just funny – it’s fun in a way that few comics today manage. And with a new storyline starting in this issue with a special surprise villain (though I’m pretty sure it’s Doctor Doom based on the fact that he’s on the cover and he has a history with Squirrel Girl), this is a great time for new readers to jump in.

Pull List: DC Comics Bombshells #5, Saga #31, Angela: Queen of Hel #2, Carnage #2, Silk #1, Venom: Space Knight #1
This Week’s Must Read: All New Wolverine #2
The fact that I pretty much love everything Tom Taylor puts his hands on (Earth 2, Injustice, Superior Iron Man) is enough to make All New Wolverine #2 the highlight of my week. Added to that is the notion that Laura Kinney has her own book again. X-23 is a strong character that deserves attention, and Taylor is the perfect writer to capture the angst, confusion and mayhem that always surrounds her.

The best part about this column? NOBODY… but NOBODY gives a damn about Frank Miller’s latest chapter in the Crazy Steve saga.

Haha! Right? While scrolling through this week’s release it was like, hmm, The Dark Knight III… umm… NOPE.

Yeah. I already had people tell me it’s not that bad and Miller was barely involved in it and it reads more like a Brian Azzarello story. And I had to say “That doesn’t help. I can’t stand him either. His Hellblazer run was terrible.”
