This Week’s Must Read: King Conan: Wolves Beyond The Border #4

Tim Truman and Tomas Giorello’s takes on Conan are always worth a read and this latest mini-series has proven no exception. Based on the opening fragment of a story that Robert E. Howard never finished, Truman’s script captures the essence of Howard’s oeuvre and Giorello’s art captures the visceral nature of Hyboria with a success few artists have equaled. This issue is a worthy end to a worthy series.

This Week’s Must Read: Saga #35

There are times when I look at my ever-growing “need to read” stack and I have no clue what to dive into. In those moments of indecision there’s one series I always find comfort in—Saga. So with a bare pull, Saga #35 is what must be read. It’s always good, so you can’t go wrong. There’s always something unexpected and over the past 34 issues, I’ve found myself loving its large cast of characters. If you’re not reading this series, it’s reliably satisfying at every turn.

This Week’s Must Read: Four Eyes: Hearts of Fire # 3

Joe Kelly and Max Fiumara’s Image Comics’ series about dragon fights and organized crime is in the midst of a baptism by fire. As Enrico and his four-eyed dragon train to rise from the ashes of defeat, crime-lord Chrisoforo Boccioni’s grip on their city tightens. The second volume of Four Eyes is a much anticipated and desired sequel to its first – Forged in Flames. Issue three of the four part story proves to be a fresh, beautifully colored story about coming of age in an age of dragons.
