Here at Kaboooooom we love our comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop, it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s The Pull List!

Pull List: Batgirl and the Birds of Prey #3, Wonder Woman #8
This Week’s Must Read: Detective Comics #942
“Night of the Monster Men” has been an immensely entertaining crossover between Batman, Nightwing, and Detective Comics. This week sees the big finale in Detective Comics and there’s no way I’m missing it. And in somewhat related news, DC Comics announced a new Batwoman series from Marguerite Bennett and with art by Steve Epting! So if you’ve been following along with “Night of the Monster Men” and have enjoyed Kate Kane, get ready for more of her!

Pull List: Batgirl And The Birds Of Prey #3, Detective Comics #942, Injustice: Ground Zero #1 & #2 (Digital Edition) [Review], The Flash #8
This Week’s Must Read: Howard The Duck #11
For the better part of two years, this title was ignored by The Powers That Be. Perhaps that’s why it remained as good as it was, avoiding the endless crossovers and tie-ins that seem to dominate Marvel Comics in modern times. It was a silly book but it was the kind of self-aware silliness you used to see all the time at The House of Ideas, where the writers and artists tweaked their own noses even as they commented upon the industry and society. In that, Chip Zdarsky and Joe Quinones have crafted a truly worthy follow-up to the legacy of Steve Gerber and Val Mayerik and I shall be sorry to see it go with this final issue.
