This Week’s Must Read: The Wicked + The Divine #23

I’m not sure there’s much I can say about The Wicked + The Divine that I haven’t already. It’s been a weird and wonderful tale of teenagers made into pop idols and gods – literally – who then must face the reality they’ll be dead in two years. Last issue saw a big upheaval of power within the pantheon, and in the arc beginning here in issue #23, the fallout from those events will surely not be what we expect.

This Week’s Must Read: Injustice: Ground Zero #5 (Digital Edition)

This spin-off series, set concurrently with the events of the story of the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game, has proven as surprisingly brilliant as its predecessor. This issue promises to deliver more of the same brilliant characterization as a mostly reformed but honestly heroic Harley Quinn is confronted by the “Mistah J” of another Earth.

This Week’s Must Read: Unworthy Thor #1

Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor run has been nothing short of spectacular. Around the midpoint of the current series, Jane (as Thor) found herself in a situation with Thor Odinson who she had inherited the mighty hammer from; and it was awesome. A comic focusing on what exactly the Unworthy Thor has been doing and what he can even offer the universe, penned by Aaron should be a good time. How “unworthy” is he exactly? Are we going to see some darker tales involving Odinson? I can’t wait to see what else went wrong since he could no longer lift the hammer as we saw at the end of the Original Sin event.
