Here at Kaboooooom we love our comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop, it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s The Pull List!

Sarah Moran

Pull List: Future Quest #9, Wonder Woman #15, Star Wars #27
This Week’s Must Read: Detective Comics #949

detective comics 949 cvrBatwoman is a character born of her relationship with her father, just as much as Batman was born of the loss of his parents. Together, Kate Kane and her father, Jacob have weathered unimaginable loss, but the recent events of Detective Comics has damaged their relationship. Since the whole debacle with Jacob’s ill-conceived, Batman-inspired task force – The Colony – he’s been in Batman’s custody, but now The Colony wants him back by any means necessary. This puts Batwoman in a terrible spot, one that will certainly test her loyalty to Batman and her father – question is, which relationship is the stronger of the two? Detective Comics #949 is the second part of the “Batwoman Begins” arc, and as its leading into Batwoman’s upcoming solo series, there’s little doubt this chapter will be formative one for her character going forward.

Pull List: Batgirl #7 [Review], Conan The Slayer #6, Detective Comics #949, The Flash #15, Future Quest #9, Injustice: Ground Zero #17 (Digital Edition), Pathfinder: Worldscape #4, Rick & Morty #22
This Week’s Must Read: Disney Darkwing Duck #7 [Review]

disney darkwing duck 7 cvrThis little title is one of my favorite books and yet it doesn’t seem to have taken off despite its pedigree or the high quality of its writing and artwork. If my word as a critic has ever meant anything to you, I urge you to give this issue a try and pick up the new trade paperback collection of the first four issues.

This Week’s Must Read: Star Wars #27 [Review]

star wars 27 cvrJason Aaron’s Star Wars run has been fantastic, it’s everything Star Wars fans need it to be. Issue #27 is a Yoda story, and much like the Obi-Wan Kenobi chapters earlier in the series, this will be a short tale about our favorite little green Jedi. While I want nothing to do with a young Yoda movie, I’m all for it in comic book form. We haven’t really seen Aaron do anything with the character during this epic run so this should be interesting!
