Here at Kaboooooom we love our comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop, it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s The Pull List!

Sarah Moran

Pull List: Brave Chef Brianna #1 (of 4), Once and Future Queen #1 [Review], Aquaman #18, Green Arrow #18, Harley Quinn #15, Hawkeye #4, Star Wars #29, Rat Queens #1, The Walking Dead #165
This Week’s Must Read: America #1

america 1 cvrMuch like the star of Marvel’s latest Hawkeye run, Kate Bishop, I first met America Chavez in the Young Avengers series from a few years ago. She’s a no nonsense, super-strong, dimension-hopping badass. Bottom line, she’s awesome. And now she’s starring in her own ongoing from YA novelist Gabby Rivera with art from the impeccable Joe Quinones. In it, America juggles her new gig as leader of the Ultimates with the next phase of her young life: college. But I wouldn’t worry, a tough lady like this? She can handle it.

Matt Morrison

Pull List: Aquaman #18, Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor #10, Injustice: Ground Zero #22 (Digital Edition)
This Week’s Must Read: Green Arrow #18 [Review]

green arrow 18 cvrFinally, after five years of hell, we are finally getting a definitive origin for just how Roy Harper and Oliver Queen came to be partners in crime-fighting… and just what went wrong between them. One of the greatest missteps of the New 52 was how it ultimately erased the original roster of Teen Titans from reality. Roy Harper suffered the most of any character, playing second fiddle to Jason Todd in Red Hood and The Outlaws with a background that was never explained beyond one page in a Green Arrow special written by someone who had nothing to do with either Green Arrow or Red Hood And The Outlaws. For that reason alone I look forward to seeing how Benjamin Percy corrects Winick’s folly once again.
