This Week’s Must Read: Batgirl and The Birds of Prey #8

When I first got into comics — way back in the halcyon days as The Dark Age was ending — one of my favorite relationships was the odd romantic triangle between Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon and Helena Bertinelli. While the relationships have shifted slightly in the Rebirth reality, there’s still enough of the old awkwardness there to make the revival of it an amusing prospect. Given The Bensons’ track record so far in spinning the classic concepts of the original Birds of Prey book in unexpected new directions, I expect big things from this issue.
