Here at Kaboooooom we love our comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop, it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s The Pull List!
Sarah Moran

Pull List: Detective Comics #957, Mighty Captain Marvel #5
This Week’s Must Read: Wonder Woman #23
wonder woman 23 cvr“The Truth” part five! The conclusion to Diana’s search for the truth takes her on a journey into darkness. But the price of understanding may be one sacrifice too many for Wonder Woman…

Since the start of Wonder Woman’s Rebirth series, there has been a great mystery surrounding her past — specifically, how she remembers her past. It’s no secret that Wonder Woman’s canonical history is a bit of a mess, even without the effects of the Flashpoint/New 52/Rebirth reset. So to have the comic outright recognize this and try to settle on the truth is exciting. Plus, with Wonder Woman’s first ever feature film releasing in a couple of weeks, there’s no better time to learn more about Diana!

Matt Morrison

Pull List: Conan The Slayer #9 [Review], Detective Comics #957 [Review], Injustice 2 #7 (Digital Edition)
This Week’s Must Read: Batgirl #11 [Review]
batgirl 11 cvr“Son of Penguin” finale! Batgirl races to free Burnside from Ethan’s plot…but has Burnside already changed too much to be saved? Even if she manages to save the day, will Barbara ever be able to truly go home again?

I could go on and on about why Batgirl is the best it’s been in the last five years. The fact that writer Hope Larson does her research and offers a realistic look at what librarians do in their day jobs. The balance between Barbara’s life and her night-life as Batgirl. The inclusion of the long-neglected members of Barbara’s supporting cast that vanished during the overrated Burnside era. The amazing, animated artwork of Chris Wildgoose. There’s a lot to love and many reasons why this book scored an Eisner nomination.
