The Time Sentinels – a body formed to protect the integrity of space and time in the wake of the destruction of The Time Lords – have declared war on The Doctor!

They kidnapped The Doctor’s companion Gabby Gonzales in a bid to lure him out when setting up paradox after paradox for him to investigate failed. When The Doctor refuses to take such obvious bait, The Time Sentinels up the ante, threatening to crash the ancient Osirian artifact known as The Circle of Transcendence into the planet of Armuko.

Why? Ironically, The Sentinels feared that The Doctor’s interference might someday lead to the destruction of Time, though all of The Doctor’s actions to date had been in support of their goals. In short, he was too powerful to be trusted to always be a force of order and had to be eradicated from Time itself, for the good of Time itself.

Thankfully, not all of the Sentinel Collective agreed with this assessment and The Doctor has found an unexpected ally in Aspect Blue. Even with Blue’s help, however, the odds are against The Doctor and his allies. The Sentinels’ efforts to destroy him now threaten all of Space and Time thanks to the interference of The Red Tardis – an parasitic creature that tried to managed to absorb and replicate the abilities of The Doctor’s time machine.

Time is running out, but The Doctor, thankfully, is not!

Given that this is the final chapter of the Year Three’s conclusion, there is very little I can say about this issue without giving away the game. Suffice it to say that it’s a perfect conclusion to The Perfect Companion storyline. The artwork is fantastic and there’s a few clever ties to the TV show I dare not spoil. This is part for the course for Nick Abadzis, of course, who has built beautifully upon the mythology of the series while putting his own spin on things. If you’re a fan of Doctor Who in general and The Tenth Doctor in specific, you should be reading this book.
