It’s time, it’s time! Time for all you ghosts, ghouls, witches and zombies to prepare to gather together for one of the greatest conventions in all of North America: TEXAS FRIGHTMARE WEEKEND!
This world renowned celebration of all things horror-related was born in 2006 in Grapevine, TX and this year it celebrates its’ amazing 14th anniversary at the DFW Airport Hyatt Regency in Dallas, TX! From May 3-5, 2019, all sorts of horror fans from all around the globe will gather for one of the finest horror conventions anywhere. With exciting guests, amazing cosplays, great vendor offers, special horror film screenings and more, Texas Frightmare Weekend is a party that just won’t die!
TFW is a great place to expose yourself to anything and everything horror-related. From merchants selling the latest in cult hits on BluRay to buying your own Lament Configuration from Hellraiser, you will always find something fun to walk away with. Mondo, one of the best names out there for horror art and Vinyl LP pressings, usually uses this weekend to debut new art and music, so make sure to visit their booth for the latest. And no visit is complete without attending the guest panels and exclusive indie horror screenings. You never know what new gems you might find to add to your collection.
One of the main attractions of the convention are horror guests and this year’s line-up is nothing to sneeze at! There will be a massive Nightmare On Elm Street franchise reunion, with not only Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund, but also his greatest opponents: Heather Langencamp (Nancy from Parts 1, 3, and New Nightmare), Lisa Wilcox (Alice from Parts 4 and 5), Tuesday Knight (Kristen from Part 4 and New Nightmare). Add to that franchise favorites like Amanda Wyss, Ronee Blakely, Danny Hassel, Brooke Bundy, Andras Jones, Toy Newkirk, and Joanne Willette, and you have one heck of a franchise reunion.
Speaking of reunions, the cast of one of the most popular horror films of the 80’s, Reanimator, will also be reuniting, starting with Dr. Herbert West himself, Jeffrey Combs! Joining him are fellow cast members Bruce Abbott, the Bride of the Re-Animator herself, Kathleen Kinmont, and horror/television legend Barbara Crampton.
Fresh off of his comeback on Shudder, Texas’ very own Joe Bob Briggs will be in attendance and you will not want to miss an opportunity to meet him. With an amazing mental encyclopedia of film knowledge and a wicked sense of humor, this master of Drive-In Schlock is always a welcome addition anywhere.
If Joe Bob Briggs is the king of shlocky horror, then surely Cassandra Peterson is the queen. The Mistress of the Dark herself, Elvira, will be returning for TFW 2019. As witty and stunning as ever, a chance to chat with her cannot be missed!
However, the biggest star attractions are a one-two punch of horror legends. First, the chin himself, Bruce Campbell will be in attendance to hobnob with the attendees and protect us from any random Deadites that may attend. Bruce is a huge fan of his fans, and meeting him is always a once in a lifetime experience.
If that is not once in-a-lifetime enough for you, Hollywood and Theater royalty Tim Curry will be makings a rare appearance on Saturday and Sunday only. There are special conditions around meeting with the star of such classics as It, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Clue (among other immortal performances) and packages are limited.
