Here at Kaboooooom we live and breathe comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s Kabooooom’s Pull List!

Pull List: The Wicked + The Divine #10, Spider-Gwen #4,
This Week’s Must Read: The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #5

While I am eagerly awaiting the latest issue of WicDiv, for my must read this week I’m picking something entirely different: Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #5. I’ll admit, I haven’t been reading Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, but this week I want to fix that. The recent buzz surrounding Squirrel Girl – including the urging of my fellow Kabooooomers – has reached the point where I can’t ignore it anymore. Plus, this week’s issue is billed as a perfect jumping on point for new readers, so I see reason not to begin enjoying the adventures of bubbly young hero with an affinity for squirrels.

Pull List: Convergence #5, Convergence Harley Quinn #2, Convergence Titans #2, Descender #3, Amazing Spider-Man #18, Secret Wars #1, Spider-Gwen #4
This Week’s Must Read: Rocket Girl #6

I’m very excited that Rocket Girl is returning for its second arc. Brandon Montclare and Amy Reeder created a fun, action-packed time traveling story in the first arc, and it will be interesting to see where they take DaYoung Johansson now. When the comic world is full of world’s at war, and universe being destroyed, it’s kind of nice to read a series about a rebellious, time traveling, rocket packing teenager, who just wants to make the world a little safer.

Pull List: Ant-Man #5, Convergence: Nightwing/Oracle #2, Descender #3, John Carter: Warlord of Mars #6, The Flash: Season Zero #18 (Digital), Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #5
This Week’s Must Read: Swords of Sorrow #1

Dynamite hasn’t had a lot of luck with inter-property crossovers in the past. But those previous events didn’t have the likes of Gail Simone, Nancy Collins, G. Willow Wilson and Marguerite Bennett writing them. You had me at Gail Simone writing Red Sonja. Throw in Dejah Thoris, Vampirella and Jana of the Jungle and you have a book that makes a classic pulp fan like me very happy.

Buy these comics at your local comic book store (Don’t know where that is? Here you go.), from Things From Another Universe, or digitally via
