The Pull List, 10.21.15

Here at Kaboooooom we love our comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop, it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s Kabooooom’s Pull List!

Matt Morrison

Pull List: Astonishing Ant-Man #1, Black Canary #5, Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor #4, Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor: Year Two #2, Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor #13, Secret Six #7, The Tithe #6
This Week’s Must Read: Clean Room #1

clean room 1 cvrGail Simone’s first Vertigo series? A twisted horror tale with art by 2000 AD’s Jon Davis-Hunt? Yes, please. Thank you. May I have seconds?

Marcus Hammond

Pull List: Age of Apocalypse #5, Amazing Spider-Man #2, Black Canary #5, Darth Vader #11, Secret Six #7, Justice League #45, Gotham Academy #11, Shutter #16, Wolf #4
This Week’s Must Read: The Beauty #3

beauty 3 cvrI feel like my days as a Marvel reader may be waning. Sure, I love the Star Wars stuff, but this whole ‘restarting the universe even though the event that creates the new universe isn’t complete yet’ schedule really turns me off. That’s all well and good, I think in every relationship you need to take a step away for a brief moment to gain your bearings. So my pull list this week is DC and Image heavy. Right now, Image is really putting out more that excites me than either Marvel or DC. Therefore, The Beauty #3 is my must read this week. The first issue grabbed my attention from the first few pages, and issue #2 kept that rolling. I can’t wait to see how Jeremy Haun develops the world he’s building each month as the mystery and conspiracy unravel behind the disease he’s created.

Alex Chautin

Pull List: Black Canary #5, Dr. Fate #5, Back to the Future # 1, Giant Days # 7
This Week’s Must Read: Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Shattered Empire #4

shattered empire 4 cvrAs we count the weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds till the next installment of the Star Wars franchise blesses us with a scrolling prologue, be sure to pick up the last issue of Star Wars Shattered Empire. Bridging Episodes VI and VII with fresh canonical adventures, Greg Rucka and Marco Chacchetto are helping their readers feel more at home in a galaxy that is really only a few months away. All-in-all, more Star Wars to quench the thirst.
