The Pull List, 5.12.16

Here at Kaboooooom we love our comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop, it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s Kabooooom’s Pull List!

Sarah Moran

Pull List: Batman #52, DC Comics Bombshells #12, Gwenpool #2
This Week’s Must Read: Archie #8

archie 8 cvrIt’s a light week for my pull, but I’ve got to give my must read recommendation to Archie #8. This Archie series is truly turning into one of my favorite reads, reminding me how fun comics can be when the threats aren’t apocalyptic. The stories might be a little inane, but the characters are charming and funny. Doesn’t hurt it’s enjoyed some wonderful art from Fiona Staples to now Veronica Fish. It’s clear Mark Waid is having a ball writing this series, and it’s probably been a welcome change of pace for him as well.

Matt Morrison

Pull List: Constantine The Hellblazer #12, Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor Year Two #5 [Review], Green Lantern Corps: Edge of Oblivion #5
This Week’s Must Read: Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year Five #21 (Digital)

injustice year five 21 cvrOne of the best parts of Injustice has been watching Harley Quinn’s slow transition from Joker’s moll into an honest to goodness hero. There hasn’t been that much of ol’ Harl in recent issues, apart from brief glimpses as she searched for a new direction in life as friend after friend dies or abandons Batman’s Resistance. As such I’m looking forward to this issue, which is entirely Harley focused.
