The Pull List, 5.18.16

Here at Kaboooooom we love our comic books, but if you’re new to the game or just don’t frequent the local comic shop, it can be hard to know where to start. For that, we’re here to help. Every week we’ll share with you our recommendations for what you should be checking out and what you need to know before you crack that cover – it’s Kabooooom’s Pull List!

Sarah Moran

Pull List: Aquaman #52, Harley Quinn #28, Jughead #6, Another Castle #3 (0f 5)
This Week’s Must Read: Future Quest #1 [Review]

future quest 1 cvrOf all the planned Hanna Barbera comics coming from DC, Future Quest shows the most promise. Unlike the new Scooby-Doo or Wacky Races, this series keeps iconic characters like Johnny Quest, Birdman, and Herculoids as fans remember them, going the route of true crossover. So no hispter Hadji or gritty Space Ghost, thank goodness. Future Quest boasts a great creative team, too – Jeff Parker, Evan Shaner, Steve Rude, and Jordie Bellaire. Fans of the classic Hanna Barbera would do well to check this one out, if only for the inevitable team up of Bandit and Avenger!

Matt Morrison

Pull List: Adventures of Supergirl #9 (Digital Edition), All-New Wolverine #8, Arrow: The Dark Archer #10 (Digital Edition), Clean Room #8, Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year Five #22 (Digital Edition), Knights Of The Dinner Table #231, Lucifer #6, Red Sonja #5
This Week’s Must Read: Future Quest #1

future quest 1 cvrWith Darwyn Cooke’s untimely death this past weekend, the world of comics already seems a little less bright and fun. This series – for which Cooke did the character designs – has arrived just in time to remind us of the legacy that he’s left behind and of the simple joy that is so frequently missed in modern comics. Besides, this book has Space Ghost! SPAAAAAACE GHOOOOOOOST!

Buy these comics at your local comic book store (Don’t know where that is? Here you go.), from Things From Another Universe, or digitally via Comixology.com.
