This Week’s Must Read: Batgirl #9

Batgirl has become one of DC Comics’ strongest titles post-Rebirth. Artist Chris Wildgoose is a phenomena, whose style proves equally suited to depicting Barbara’s life as a student/hacktivist and her nocturnal duties as Batgirl. Writer Hope Larson has crafted a new mythology that builds upon the best bits of the Burnside-era and the Gail Simone run while introducing her own ideas — such as a new villainous foil in the form of Penguin’s tech-savvy bastard son. This is easily the best comic series for new readers since the Bendis/Bagley run on Ultimate Spider-Man.
