This Week’s Must Read: Batman #22: The Button
The Dark Knight and The Fastest Man Alive, the two greatest detectives on any world, unite to explore the mystery behind a certain blood-stained smiley button embedded in the Batcave wall. What starts as a simple investigation turns deadly when the secrets of the button prove irresistible to an unwelcome third party—and it’s not who anyone suspects! It’s a mystery woven through time, and the ticking clock starts here!
I was a little unsure of “The Button” — DC’s mini-crossover between Batman and The Flash exploring the mysteries of Rebirth. Its first issue, while thrilling with its all-out brawl between Batman and Reverse-Flash, was light on any meaningful investigation. That all changed with last week’s The Flash #22, sending DC’s two best detectives on a wild ride through the Speed Force and landing them in the Flashpoint continuity. That alone raises big questions, but I’m most looking forward to Bruce interacting with his father — especially once it’s revealed that Thomas Wayne became the sort of vengeful vigilante Bruce hs always struggled against becoming.

This Week’s Must Read: Green Arrow #22
The first chapter of “The Rise Of Star City” floored me. With a roster of classic villains (and Brick, who – let’s be honest – was never a great villain in any previous incarnation) laying waste to Seattle, I’m anxious to see what Ben Percy and Juan Ferreyra do next as the heroes take the field of battle.
