This Week’s Must Read: Zodiac Starforce #2

A few weeks back I chose the first issue of Zodiac Starforce as my must read, and what do you know, I’m doing the same with its second issue. Already a fan of magical girl teams, Kevin Panetta and Paulina Ganucheau are doing right by the genre. It only took one issue for Zodiac Starforce to have me hooked and I cannot wait to find out what happens to the team next!

This Week’s Must Read: The Sandman: Overture #6

Here it is – the end of the beginning! The bimonthly release schedule of this series has made The Sandman: Oveture a pleasant surprise each time a new chapter has come out. Of course, with Neil Gaiman writing his first original Sandman story in some time coupled with the artwork of J.H. Williams III, it’s no surprise that this series has proven to be as magical as it has been. I’ll be sorry to see it end.

This Week’s Must Read: Justice League #44

The Darkseid War event in Justice League has been really good. Geoff Johns (as we have come to expect) is testing the limits of the Justice League by making Earth the battleground for the final showdown between the Anti-Monitor and Darkseid. If that wasn’t enough, Johns is throwing some extra drama into the mix with the conflict between Myrina Black, the mother of Darkseid’s daughter, and Grail, the aforementioned daughter of Darkseid. Everyone has their own motivations to cause destruction and the Justice League has to figure out a way to stop it.

Jason Fabok’s art throughout the series has been rightfully epic—capturing all details of the intense drama and action beautifully. If you haven’t been reading Justice League, this probably isn’t the issue to start with, but you really should go back to issue #41 and check it out. You won’t be sorry.
